The MINOTAUR is the new issue in the Great Greek Mythology series, featuring the Minotaur. The coin has an Antique Finish quality, a beautiful design with High Relief and selective Gilding. It comes in a gorgeous wooden case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage of 500 pieces worldwide. The reverse of the coin depicts the Minotaur, a monstrous creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man. According to legend, it lived in the Labyrinth on the island of Crete and fed on human sacrifices sent by Athens as part of their tribute to Crete. In the image, the Minotaur holds a torch, in which the burning flame is selectively gilded. The obverse of the coin features an image of the Olympus, surrounded by a laurel wreath and the typical Greek pattern.
